Nepal: Ascent to Ama Dablam 6812m

Event details Difficulty Event type Date Previous Next Event description Ama Dablam is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Mount Everest area. It is located in northeastern Nepal and its main peak measures 6812 m, the secondary western peak is 5563 m. The name of the mountain can be translated as "Mother with a pearl necklace". We start our expedition in Lukla (2840m) on the legendary route through the Khumbu Valley. The ascent to this impressive and majestic peak will be led via the southwest ridge. Despite the fact that this is a traditional ascent route, this route is one of the technically difficult Himalayan ascents due to the overall exposure of the peak. This is not a trek, but a demanding mountaineering ascent that requires experience with ice climbing and mixed terrain. The expedition will be led by Josef Šimůnek, a UIAGM mountain guide who has long-term experience in leading Himalayan expeditions and successful ascents of Himalayan peaks, including eight-thousanders. Professional event security includes rescue services in case of a problem in the Himalayan mountains. Go on an expedition with us. If you are only interested in the logistical security of the event, do not hesitate to contact us.
