Heliskiing in Iceland – a skiing experience from the peak to the ocean.
Experience a unique heliskiing adventure in the north of Iceland, accompanied by a UIAGM mountain guide - in the heart of the Arctic Circle, where mountains rise directly from the sea. With over 20 years of experience and the facilities of the family-run Klængshóll lodge on the Troll Peninsula, the Arctic Heli Skiing team will take you to virgin slopes with an elevation gain of up to 1500 m. Skiing to the ocean, the midnight sun, the northern lights, hot springs and the magic of the harsh Nordic nature await you.
The season lasts from February to June and is suitable for experienced freeriders and lovers of wide plains. Safety and an individual approach come first.
The UIAGM mountain guide has the highest international license to work in the mountains and has liability insurance.

Arrival day:
Evening arrival in the city of Akureyri in the north of Iceland, followed by a 45-minute transfer to Klængshóll Lodge. There will be a welcome, an initial briefing with the mountain guide, a check of equipment and a shared dinner. In the evening, it is time to rest after the journey and prepare for the following days.
1st day of skiing:
We start the morning with important safety training on avalanche prevention and helicopter movement.
Then we set off for our first day of great skiing in the Arctic wilderness.
Day 2–3 (for a 4-day program)
Days 2–5 (for a 6-day program)
Our experienced guides set the pace and route according to the conditions and abilities of the group. Every day after skiing we return to the comfort of Klængshóll Lodge – relax in the hot tub, sauna, or treat ourselves to a massage. In the evening we are treated to a delicious dinner made from local ingredients –
lamb, fish or venison from the chef.
Last day of skiing and departure:
After breakfast we head out for our last ski trip. We will have lunch in the field during the day. Upon our return we will enjoy a final wellness session, say goodbye to our team and friends and then transfer back to Akureyri. From there you can continue by flight to Reykjavík or extend your stay in Iceland.
Yes! We do not discriminate between friends on the same board. Although all guides ski, they are used to guiding snowboarders and choose suitable terrain (no long flats). However, please note that our selection of snowboards is limited, so we recommend that snowboarders contact us in advance
contacted about equipment.
You can, but we have a fleet of Völkl performance skis on site that we recommend trying out. Be sure to bring your own ski boots, preferably in your carry-on luggage. Wider skis (mid-fat to fat) with more stiffness are ideal for the local conditions. Get your skis waxed on warmer snow before you go. There is a repair and waxing service available at the chalet to avoid “no wax” problems.
