1. Easy trek

CONDITION

Families with small children (in carriers), active pensioners.

EQUIPMENT

Low sturdy shoes are enough, there is no need for ankle boots. There are no other equipment requirements.

MOVEMENT AT HEIGHT

500 – 1,000 m above sea level

Characteristics

Forest roads, footpaths, paved roads.

2. Easy trek with elevation gain

CONDITION

Families with school-age children, pensioners who play sports.

EQUIPMENT

In most cases, we recommend ankle boots. Trekking poles are suitable for less confident hikers.

500 – 1000 m

MOVEMENT AT HEIGHT

1,000 – 1,500 m above sea level

Characteristics

Rocky mountain roads, steeper profiles, short sections secured by chains.

3. Moderate trek

CONDITION

Hobby athletes, retirees in top shape, teenagers in good shape.

EQUIPMENT

Ankle boots are a must. For via ferrata routes, a via ferrata seat and helmet are required. For this difficulty, it is advisable to have layered clothing with a waterproof outer layer.

METERS ACROSSED

1,000 – 1,500 m above sea level

MOVEMENT AT HEIGHT

1,500 – 3,000 m above sea level

Characteristics

Possibility of exposed sections with chains (for experienced alpine hikers without the need for belaying). Movement on snow, the necessity of walking confidently in stony terrain.

4. Hard trek

CONDITION

Very good physical condition required, not suitable for pensioners and children under 18.

EQUIPMENT

Ankle boots are a must. For via ferrata routes, a via ferrata seat and helmet are required. It is advisable to have layered clothing with a waterproof outer layer. Trekking poles will help a lot on most routes. Adequate equipment is necessary when moving on the glacier – crampons, rope, helmet, ice axe.

MOVEMENT AT HEIGHT

3,000 – 4,500 m above sea level

Characteristics

Multiple day treks, frequent exposed sections, movement on the glacier, all types of mountain terrain including movement on the glacier.

5. Extremely difficult trek

CONDITION

Active sports people in perfect health and mental condition.

EQUIPMENT

Ankle boots are a must. For via ferrata routes, a via ferrata seat and helmet are required. It is advisable to have layered clothing with a waterproof outer layer. Trekking poles will help a lot on most routes. Adequate equipment is necessary when moving on the glacier – crampons, rope, helmet, ice axe.
